From Amy:

Happy Pi Day!

What a morning!  I am completely astounded by the memorization of the digits of Pi – with winners in every division and enthusiastic support from the community.  Congratulations to Jael, Will, and Willow for their division wins.  And HUGE congratulations to Will for memorizing over 160 digits of Pi.  And if you’re wondering what that looks like, it’s this:

That is astounding!!

I want to draw your attention to the exhibit “Art from the Schools” hosted by Artists Association of Nantucket. Thanks to the incredible Jenny Gammill, this show will highlight the amazing art of many NNS students. The show includes pieces from all first, second, third, fourth, and seventh graders, with additional pieces from some fifth and sixth graders. Stop by the Big Gallery at 12 Straight Wharf to enjoy art, not only from NNS, but also from other schools on the island.

Please note one crucial calendar change. We will hold a professional development workshop for all employees on Wednesday, April 9th, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. This means we will have a shorter school day on April 9th, with school closing for all students at 12:30 pm.  We will hold our conference day on Wednesday, April 16th.

Warmly,
