At Nantucket New School, we emphasize finding the right fit. For nearly 40 years, we've worked with families to find just the right 'next school' for each child.
The Process
Step 1: Ask questions! The process of self reflection is the most important step.
Attend a panel of our graduates who attend Nantucket High School
Attend our boarding school admissions panels
Step 2: Meet with the Head of School to develop your list of schools
Step 3: Visit schools! We designate a week in the Fall for 8th grade families to visit schools off-island.
Next Steps
If you choose to apply to secondary independent schools, complete the application:
- Determine faculty member to write the teacher recommendation
- Develop and hone your admissions essay with our English teacher
- Take the SSAT here in the Fall
If you choose to consider Nantucket High School, complete the registration process:
- Meet with the registrar to select courses and develop your schedule.
