At NNS, we believe that a small school is uniquely equipped to meet the individual needs of students and their families. Our approach is centered on creating a nurturing, family-like atmosphere where children can thrive. Admissions FAQs
We encourage families to complete the application process by February 1.
Applications completed after February 1st will be considered on a rolling basis; generally speaking, families will receive a decision within 30 days.
The criteria for selecting students for admission include the following: motivation, curiosity, and creativity consistent with the school’s mission and program; demonstrated good citizenship and ability to work and play cooperatively with peers. We are eager to welcome new families whose objectives and expectations are aligned with the school’s mission and philosophy.
While an effort is made, whenever possible, to accommodate siblings of currently enrolled students, we do not give preferential treatment to any particular group or category of applicants.
Students applying to pre-kindergarten and kindergarten have three basic requirements: an application, a tour, and an informal classroom visit. If your child is applying to grades 1-8, we also require a teacher recommendation and their academic records for the last three years. We’ll need to have your child come for another classroom visit- so much can change during the course of a year! Please email us at [email protected] to let us know that you’d like to re-engage and re-apply, and we can help walk you through it!
