Drop Everything and Read
This afternoon as I was walking around the building, I saw a familiar sight- teachers sitting on floors, totally immersed in reading alongside their students. Starting in first grade, students have time carved out of their schedule to read for pleasure, and teachers model that love of reading. If you’re ever unsure of how to start a conversation with a teacher, ask them what they’ve been reading lately! Most of us have gotten into the habit of keeping a stack of books at the ready. On my reading list this winter has been The Quickening: Creation and Community at the Ends of the Earth, about climate change and motherhood, and Summer at Little Lava: A Season at the Edge of the World, about living on a farm on the west coast of Iceland. What’s on your winter reading list?

Ping Pong Tourney & Chili Cook-Off
What a night! Thank you to everyone who attended a truly fun event. Our chili cook-off champions were Dre Solimeo, Erin Zircher, and the Veyseys. Our ping pong champion was Quinn Veysey, and the runner-up was Garison Beale. We'll be doing this again soon!

Have a great weekend.

Warmly,
Danielle Henry Beale
