Head's Letter

Head’s Letter 11/3/2017

Dear NNS Families,

After seeing roughly 900 Morning Meetings over the last five plus years, I didn’t think it was possible to see something completely new.  The first grade proved me wrong on Monday by leading us in an indoor relay race!  The two teams (comprised of two students from each grade) had to balance a mini pumpkin on their head as they raced to a table where they had to scoop as much candy corn as possible only using their mouth and a spoon.  Next they had to race with the spoon still in their mouth and dump the candy corn into a bucket.  The team with the most candy corns won.  Here Bailey and Klaudius work on scooping candy corn!

The Halloween fun continued in on Tuesday with the first ever Spook-O-Rama.  Each of the Upper School classrooms were decorated and big and little friends enjoyed spooky, fun games in each classroom.  Big friends did a great job of keeping everything calm and little friends had a ton of fun!

The day ended with our annual parade which is always fun for parents and students alike.

And, after the big day and night was over, we collected “a ton” of candy to send to our service men and women overseas.  We hope this will be the last candy we see at school until next year.  Thanks.

In spite of Halloween there was a lot of other great things happening this week.  The Upper School geography bee winnowed the field to two finalists from each grade who will compete later this month for a chance to advance to the state contest.

The wind finally stopped blowing long enough for the third grade to make it to Plimoth Plantation and I’m sure the delay made it that much more fun!

Remember Bash is Saturday night and we still have a few tickets left.
