Boundaries
Sergeant Mauldin P’33, ‘36, visited our Early and Lower School morning meeting on Thursday this week to talk about safety and boundaries. She explained to the students about what to do if they're ever lost, and if they’re ever in a situation where they feel unsafe. My favorite moment was when she asked the students to raise their hands if they knew their address. She called on her son, Isaac, and said “You know your address, don’t you?” On cue, he said “No!” with perfect comedic timing. It got plenty of laughs from the adults!

If you’re interested in talking to your kids about healthy boundaries, I recommend starting with this video for inspiration.

Daffodils
Today we welcomed Anne Dyer, former Head of Lower School, and her sister, Bea Gonnella, to talk to students about horticulture and the upcoming Nantucket Garden Club Annual Daffodil Flower Show. They did a live demonstration of making a Croc into a vessel for a beautiful flower arrangement. Thank you Anne and Bea!

Have a great weekend.

Warmly,
Danielle Henry Beale

Raising money for financial aid and programming has never been so quackin’ important!

Here's how it works: Students, families, and friends adopt rubber ducky racers. We race them and you join us at The Creeks to root for your ducks. The three most nimble ducks win awesome prizes! The students who sell the most duckies win awesome prizes too! The school wins your crucial support! EVERYONE WINS!

We are certain we can top last year’s success by counting on all of you to sell ducks and help promote rubber ducky adoptions with friends and family off-island. Our goal is to get 100% participation from our students.

Join us at The Creeks on May 18th at 11 a.m. to see if your rubber ducky makes it across the finish line first! Thank you in advance for your support! If you have any questions, please contact Kate Olson at: kolson@nantucketnewschool.org or 508-228-8569 ext. 302.
